The Sai Avatar: A Lifetime of Love and Service
The Sai Organization is set up to develop and foster Love; it is not set up through compulsion; it arose from the heart and it expands the heart. The inner desire to achieve Love and expand Love has taken outer shape as this Organization. Nov 21, 1970 (Third All India Conference)
I have a “Task”: To foster all mankind and ensure for all of them lives full of Ananda (bliss).I have a “Vow”: To lead all who stray away from the straight path again into goodness and save them.I am attached to a “Work” that I love: To remove the sufferings of the poor and grant them what they lack.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba, May 25, 1947
The Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust was set up by Sri Sathya Sai Baba to provide the necessary foundation, structure and guidelines for His egalitarian mission.
1. What is the purpose of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council and its Centers?
To help individuals regain self-confidence and faith in God, to foster Love, to realize the Oneness of all, and to awaken people to the Divinity inherent within them.
1. How often should centers meet, what activities should be done, and which members should be involved?
Meet together once a week or once a fortnight or at least once a month; have someone to discourse to you or engage in Bhajan (devotional singing) or study or Dhyana (meditation); experience the thrill of spiritual comradeship.
To further enhance the Sai Mission by formally uniting Sai organizations under one umbrella.
“I consider Seva (service) as the most important activity of the centers, for it is the highest spiritual practice.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba
The Devotional wing caters to each individual’s heart to heart connectivity. This wing helps nurture the inner self of all members through group activities such as devotional singing, study circles, public lectures, seminars and meditation.
“End of Education is Character.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Young people should consider the true purpose of life. They should get rid of all the impurities in their hearts. With pure hearts they should embark on service at all times and everywhere. “Hands in society, head in the forest.” From today develop an unwavering mind and a steady vision. That is the way to divinise the world.
– Baba (First World Youth Conference – July 16, 1997)
