Zone 1, SaiLights Magazine-Volume 5
Dear Sai Brothers and Sisters,
By the Grace of Swami, we are most happy to bring you Volume 5 of SaiLights, the magazine of Zone 1, Sri Sathya Sai Global Council. The present Aradhana issue is being offered to Swami, with love and gratitude, on Aradhana Day, April 24, 2023.
- The last few months have seen a lot of activity in Zone 1. Do read Brother Axay’s succinct summary on page 5! The first four months of the year are also a time of celebration, marking major festivals or important events across multiple faiths. Volume 5 is thus festival-themed, with articles on Maha Shivaratri, Ramanavami, Hanuman, Easter, Ramadan, and Aradhana Day.
- In keeping with the Festivals theme, Volume 5 features pictures of rangolis (festive Indian floor designs) whose colors and patterns represent the beauty and joy of these occasions and the beauty of the world that God has given us.
- How did Swami enter your life? Please see our fellow devotees’ inspiring responses to this question, on p. 81; and don’t miss the Sai-themed Quiz where you may test your own knowledge of all things Swami. Good luck!
We have been greatly blessed to offer every issue of SaiLights to date at the Maha Samadhi in Prasanthi Nilayam, and pray for Swami’s kind acceptance once again of Volume 5 at His Lotus Feet.

This will be a beautiful present for the Mother of all mothers, Mother Easwaramma. The deadline for all to submit their poems, essays, artwork or photos of their Earth friendly activities is May 1st and should be emailed to sssgc.enviro@gmail.com. We will be giving Earth Champ Awards (to the top 3 in each category listed above for SSSE and YA). Also, submissions will be highlighted in the next Sai Lights magazine.

With the grace and blessings of our Beloved Swami, the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council of Canada is pleased to announce the upcoming event of the Sri Sathya Sai Vedic Yajna – Performed by Sri Vedanarayanan, April 28th-April 30th, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario. Please see the attached flyer for further details.
Sri Vedanarayanan, a learned Vedic scholar from Prasanthi Nilayam, Puttaparthi, has been leading Vedic chanting in Sai Kulwant Hall during Darshan time since Swami initiated this practice. Sri Vedanarayanan has graciously agreed to come and conduct sacred Vedic ceremonies and explain their relevance and significance in today’s world.
