I have a "Task": To foster all mankind and ensure for all of them lives full of Ananda (bliss).

I have a "Vow": To lead all who stray away from the straight path again into goodness and save them.

I am attached to a "Work" that I love: To remove the sufferings of the poor and grant them what they lack.

Frequently Asked Questions

To further enhance the Sai Mission by formally uniting Sai organizations under one umbrella. Prior to the 2011 Mahasamadhi, Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s physical presence guided and connected all who reported to him from Prashanti Nilayam. An organization bearing the Sri Sathya Sai Baba name naturally should be based out of, connected with, and guided from Prashanti Nilayam.  Thus, the formation of the SSSGC, which is comprised of leaders from around the world organized within a transparent, fair, and balanced structure. Please refer to the Terms of Reference document for further details.

The following website has been set up for access to announcements and updates: https://www.sssgc-zone1.org

Anyone can register to join SSSGC by clicking: SSSGC Registration Link.

This will allow:

  • individuals to register and be connected to a nearby SSSGC center/group or
  • individuals to sign up for a virtual SSSGC center/group
  • a group of 5 or more individuals to come together to form a new SSSGC center/group
  • an existing center/group where most officers and members wish to sign up with SSSGC.

The foremost principle for the SSSGC is to follow the guidance and directives of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.  He has clearly indicated that the organization is for all individuals who wish to grow spiritually.  The universal human values of Truth, Right Action, Peace, Love and Non- Violence along with the message of “Love All, Serve All” should be the constant, unchanging base for all centers.  The language, culture, traditions, religious expressions and rituals should adapt for the benefit of the local community.

By educating our members regarding the universal teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.  By following the clear instructions Baba has given over the years in HIs writings, discourses, and interviews.  By fostering empathy for all and acknowledging that the need of the hour for entire humanity is exposure to Baba’s teachings.

No.  Of course, there are many wonderful spiritual organizations around the world doing wonderful work, but if functioning as an officer in the SSSGC, one should not have an official position or responsibility to another spiritual organization to avoid any potential conflict or confusion.

The membership of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation of India alone contains, by number, over 90% of all Sai Organizational devotees.  When combining with those individuals affiliated with the institutions managed by the central trust, along with the large number of SSSGC aligned centers worldwide, well over 95% of Sai organizational devotees on earth are under the umbrella of the SSSGC.

The young adult age range in the SSSGC will be from 18-35.  This is a request we have received from numerous devotees over the years. Prior to 2011 when Swami was present in the physical body, 35 was the upper age limit for the YA’s.  Also, the Indian organization has maintained the upper limit of 35 as well.

SSSGC centers and groups welcome all to their devotional, educational and service programs.  They do not have to be devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, nor do they have to be members to participate.  However, if one is to become an official member or officer in the SSSGC, they should not be a member of any other Sai organizational group.

Continue to put in to practice Sri Sathya Sai’s teaching in every aspect of our lives.  Continue all the wonderful service work and spiritual practices you have always done at the center.  Nothing changes except now we are united as an even larger Sai Family.

  1. The naming system should be: The Sri Sathya Sai Global Council Center of city or locale, (state optional), country
  2. Example: “The SSSGC Center of Clearwater, Florida, USA
  3. Example: “The SSSGC Center of Scarborough, Toronto, Canada
  4. Informally we can still use simple nicknames. Example:  The Rio Clara Sai Center

Brief History

Sri Sathya Sai Baba was born in Puttaparthi on Nov 23, 1926 – an auspicious Monday in the lunar month of Kartika, when Lord Shiva is especially adored.

His Life
Sri Sathya Sai Baba was born in Puttaparthi on Nov 23, 1926 – an auspicious Monday in the lunar month of Kartika, when Lord Shiva is especially adored. He was given the name Sathyanarayana Raju. What intrigued His mother Easwaramma, most was the unbounded compassion her little Sathya had particularly for the poor and downtrodden. Even as a toddler, He insisted that the beggar at the door be served well in spite of their own limited means and would often give His own share to the needy. When He began school, His playmates were inspired by His ability to lead them to be socially responsible, spiritually aware, endowed with individual and national character. His friends were often fascinated by His extraordinary powers of creating things out of thin air, knowing the future, deep understanding of scriptural wisdom and so on.
The Childhood

The Raju family of Puttaparthi was noted for its piety since the days of the renowned sage, Venkavadhootha, a saintly ancestor who was looked upon as a Guru in hundreds of villages around. Not only did the family build and endow the Gopalaswami Temple (dedicated to Lord Krishna), but Sri Ratnakaram Kondama Raju, the grandfather of Baba’s physical frame, dedicated a temple to Sathyabhama, consort of Lord Krishna, a deity to whom this type of homage is seldom offered in any part of India. Peasants by vocation, they were known for their musical and dramatic talent and were much involved in the propagation of the sacred scriptures through village plays and musicals. Consequently, the family was given the name ‘Bhat Raju’ (Bhat – priest)

The Advent

23rd of November, 1926, the Hindu year of Akshaya, meaning, the Never-declining, the Ever-full. It was the time of sunrise and the villagers were chanting the names of Lord Shiva, remembering that the day was Karthika Somavara, a Monday of the Holy Month of Karthika, devoted to the puja (worship) of Shiva. That day was made even more auspicious for Shiva worship because the ascendant star was Ardra (the star of Shiva). On this day, when these rare and propitious signs came together, the people thronged the temples of the Lord to offer special pujas and pray for His benediction.
