Lessons Learned from the Epidemiology of Diabetes
Talk by Dr. V. Mohan
Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is honored to host Dr. V. Mohan, a globally renowned expert in diabetes research and epidemiology, for an insightful talk on "Lessons Learned from the Epidemiology of Diabetes" at the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre, Prasanthi Nilayam.
As the Chairman and Chief of Diabetology at Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, he has been at the forefront of diabetes care, research, and education, with over 1,750 research papers and ranked among the Top 2% Scientists in the World by Stanford University.
A recipient of the 2024 Kelly West Award for Outstanding Achievement in Epidemiology, the Padma Shri, and numerous other accolades, Dr. Mohan’s contributions have significantly shaped diabetes management in India and beyond.
In this session, he shared several key epidemiological insights, trends, risk factors, and preventive strategies essential for addressing the growing diabetes challenge.

Our Connection with The Abode of Highest Peace
Prasanthi Nilayam means 'the abode of highest peace'. It is the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, located near the village of Puttaparthi amidst rolling hills, with the river Chitravathi to its east. The valley houses the divine sannidhi (sanctum) of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Sai Kulwant Hall, bhajan mandir, residential complexes, the headquarters of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, its allied institutions.
By the divine grace of Beloved Baba our SSSGC Zone1 has recently taken up a new initiative "Prasanthi Connection" through which we will be sharing all important initiatives & updates from Prasanthi Nilayam.
Prasanthi Connection Team members will also strive hard to facilitate and help the devotees (of Zone1) with the logistics in Prasanthi Nilalayam.
